BMC - William Pouch

Bienvenido (Welcome)

ATTENTION STUDENTS - The progress report you will receive on Nov. 20 is not the most up-to-date grade you have in Spanish 1 or Spanish 3. Your grade may be able to change if you turn in missing assignments. For instance, many Spanish 1 students have zeros for the writing assignment about a relative that they did not turn in (quiz grade). Remember the new late work policy - that all work due beginning Nov. 9 can only receive late credit (80%) if it is turned in within one week of the due date. Otherwise the grade for the assignment will be a zero.

¡Hola! ¿Cómo estás? Me llamo Señor Pouch y soy el profesor del curso Español 1 y 3. Por favor, lee esto y muéstralo a tu familia en casa para que todos sepan cómo será tu clase de español. (Hello! How are you? My name is Señor Pouch, and I am the instructor for the Spanish 1 and Spanish 3 courses. Please read this and show it to your family at home so that everyone knows what your Spanish class will be like.)

Objectives Spanish 1 students will build a working vocabulary and be able to use verbs in the present tense as they become comfortable in basic exchanges (aloud and written) dealing with topics such as greetings, numbers, money, time, weather, location, food and dining, family, home, geography, school, transportation, health, body, sports, music, art, and Hispanic cultures.

Spanish 3 students will continue to build a working vocabulary and be able to use verbs in all tenses as they become more comfortable in aloud and written exchanges. We will continue expanding our understanding of and interactions with Hispanic cultures.

These courses focus on conversation, useful vocabulary, Spanish-speaking cultures, reading for understanding, writing, and grammar.
