As a culminating assignment for our study of classical literature, we are watching the film version of Homer's Odyssey. The film gives students an opportunity to review concepts, characters, and themes from our reading.  This is especially important as we get close to our semester exam.  

I have given students a new unit agenda for our study of short stories. That agenda and the unit objectives are posted under Conflict in Short Stories. Please note that we have started our vocabulary cycle over -- the next quiz will be on the ten words in list #6. Just like last nine weeks, students must add ten words to their vocabulary each week.  I have scheduled the quizzes for each Monday beginning November 9th.  Also, as a result of our schedule, we have had to put the poetry explication on the back burner. We will finish up those poems 6-10 this week and start with the "list" poems this grading period.
