Dr. Bob Nash teaches Physical Science Classes and Senior Project Classes.  He joined BMCCHS faculty in January 2009.  He served on the BMCCHS Board of Directors the first year of the schools existence.  He previously taught Biology and Physical Science at Greenville Tech Charter High School for a period of 4 years.  Also, he served on the Board of Directors at GTCHS for 6 years of which the last two years he was Chairman of the Board.  Prior to this, he was Professor of Science at Southern Wesleyan University.  He retired in 2003 after 35 years teaching at the University.  He continues to hold the title Emeritus Professor of Science.  Dr. Nash has experience teaching at Winthrop University and Wrenn High School.  He received his AB degree in Natural Science from Southern Wesleyan University, MS and PhD degrees in Entomology from Clemson University.  In politics, Dr. Nash was elected for six consecutive terms of office to Pickens County Council.  He served from 1978 until 2002 and was Chairman of Council for 8 years.  During this period he was President of the SC Association of Counties and Chairman of the Appalachian Council of Governments.  He is past Chairman of the Palmetto Charter Network.  He is past President of the Clemson Rotary Club and current member of the Central Business Council.   He served in the Army and the Army Reserves and was recently appointed by OCAR at the Pentagon as USAR Ambassador for state of SC.  Dr. Nash and his wife Harriet live in Central, SC where they attend the Central First Wesleyn Church.  His three children, Robert Jr., Russell, and Krista are married and all together have given him 4 grand-daughters and 1 grand-son.  Dr. Nash enjoys working with young people.  His hobbies include gardening, photography, and traveling.
