Through the SSHS grant, the District has expanded their support services to include Early Childhood, which focuses on children from birth to age five. Our Early Childhood Team includes a credentialed school nurse practitioner, Antonia Clark, and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Taffy Salcedo. Program goals include increasing access to preschool, increasing early identification of health and developmental problems, and providing early intervention and prevention services. In the fall, Project W.I.N.K. will add Options State Preschools to Orchard Dale Elementary and Scott Ave Elementary. The Early Childhood team will also provide health and developmental screenings, case management linkage and referral, consultation, home visitations, parent health education classes and Incredible Years parenting classes in Spanish and English.
