Our annual FUN RUN (Turkey Trot) will be taking place tomorrow (11/19). 3rd - 5th will run beginning at 9:00am on the back field, and Preschool - 2nd will run beginning at 10:30am on the back field. Don't forget to wear your running shoes!

Reminder...We will be off the entire week of Thanksgiving (11/23 - 11/27). We will add two days to the end of the school year making the last day of school Friday, June 18th. |

Leffingwell's Character Parade will be taking place this Thursday (10/29) beginning at 9:00am. Please avoid scary costumes, masks, and face paint. Students are also encouraged to carry the book of their character. Happy Halloween! |

Reminder...This Friday (10/30) is a Parent/Teacher Conference Day. There is no school for students. Next week (11/2-11/6) is Parent/Teacher Conference Week with minimum days all week so teachers can conference in the afternoons. Our goal is to conference with all parents. Please contact your child's teacher if you do not have a conference time scheduled. |

Our 5th graders attended a special assembly and writers workshop today with author Paul Genesse. He is the author of the Iron Dragon book series. He talked about what it takes to become an author, answered student questions, took the students through the process of writing a story, and then signed posters for the students. Thank you Mr. Genesse for stopping by Leffingwell on your book tour.

Students were treated to two special assemblies for Red Ribbon Week. On Monday, students got to see a BMX bike show assembly and learned the importance of working hard and making good choices. On Tuesday, students saw America's Most Popular School Assembly, THE NED SHOW. The NED Show promotes academic achievement and character development by teaching three critical skills that will benefit kids for a lifetime:
Never Give Up
Encourage Others
Do Your Best
And yes, YO-YOs are now on sale for the next 5 days at Leffingwell. The NED Show speaker used a yo-yo to tell stories, get his message across, and entertain the kids!
