The Arysmark is imbued with a touch of magic and can be detected by detect magic and is difficult to counterfeit.  They are also no longer minted so the price has gone up accordingly.  Other Tyrian currency was stronger than the other lands, but it lost value during the Great War.  Pre-war double the value of all Tyrian coins other than the Arysmark.

Platinum is rarely minted.

Feltrest does not mint its own coins, instead they use other coins, stamped bars and writs.

Stamped bars are minted in Feltrest and Tyr.  They are usually in 1 lb, 2 lb and 5 lb bars. (a “gold brick” such as those often seen in movies is about 20-25 lbs and about 6” x 2” x 3”.)

Silver Bar – 5 GP, 10 GP, 25 GP

Gold bar – 50 GP, 100 GP, 250 GP

Platinum Bar – 500 GP, 1000 GP, 2500 GP

Signed Writs are often used for exchange in Feltrest, Tyr and major cities.  These are often for a gold amount or occasionally specific goods.  They can be turned in to a government or guild representative for the listed value by anyone possessing them.
