A survey can be a good tool for getting a pulse on how things are going in the quorum. There are a few different options: - Manual Survey - Standard check-the-box or fill-in-the-bubble type stuff (i.e. printed off, handed out, collected).
- Advantages:
you can hand this out in church and get a fairly good response rate
(i.e. pretty much everyone in the class will fill it out.
- Disadvantages:
you burn through valuable lesson time and will omit responses from
Elders who don't attend the 3rd hour (e.g. callings in YM, Primary).
- Online Survey
- Using a free (or paid) online survey tool. Email link out to
Elders. They complete the survey anonymously using their web browser.
- Advantages:
Elders can do this on their own time (i.e. you're not using class
time). Most online tools have nice reporting/aggregation
functionality. You can reach all Elders, not just those who attend
class.
- Disadvantages: Opt-out is very easy. You may not get a very good response rate.
I started out thinking I would go the manual route so I whipped up a quick MS-Word document (see below). Unfortunately, we ran out of time in class. So I decided to create an online survey instead. I've used 2 different online survey sites: Both sites are free (with limited functionality). Once you create the survey, you will receive a URL that you can email out to your quorum. When they click on the URL, it will take them to the survey. Mine looked something like the following:
All submitted results are tracked by the site. You can log in at any time to view a report of the results. For full results, see attached 'EQ Year End Survey' below. |
