Hello, I'm Edward. I'm a history major with a minor in creative writing at UNC-CH. I participate in a few programs outside of class, most notably CHiPs, the Chapel Hill Players. CHiPs is a an improv and sketch comedy group at UNC, and has two main shows a month, generally accompanied by smaller performances at different times. I have also participated in some productions at UNC, most recently Company Carolina's Reefer Madness and Original Playwriting Studio's BLACKMAIL.

I enjoy 'teh interwebz' a lot, and as a result I tend to spend a lot of time on them, for better or for worse. Here are some of my favorite sites:

Theonion.com and avclub.com - The onion is a satirical newspaper that publishes articles that take a humorous slant on news stories. It's hard to describe. Check it out. The AV club is the music/literature/movie/etc. review part of the newspaper, and is generally considered the 'serious' part of the onion. I also recommend it.

Ikariam.com - A fun, if somewhat addicting web browser game.

digg.com - A fun website that keeps you up to date on the weird and interesting - users rate what's worth seeing by 'digging' it.

youtube.com - an old classic.

I also subscribe to a lot of web comics.

achewood.com - this is probably my favorite comic online. It's best when read from the beginning since so much of the humor is based on character development and callbacks to earlier gags and jokes. The writing and humor is often surreal and somewhat bizarre - what do you expect from a house populated by bears, cats, and a retarded otter?

giantitp.com - this hosts two of my favorites, Order of the Stick and Erfworld, which are based on dungeons and dragons and strategic table top gaming, respectively. I'm not really into either of these things, but I like the comics because of the compelling storyline, and in the case of erfworld, the interesting artwork. Again, very plot driven.

drmcninja.com - he's a doctor and a ninja. What else do you need to know?
