Corporate membership

The objects for which the Foundation is established are:

 

(a)            To promote international understanding of, support for, cooperation in, and investment in Hong Kong, the mainland China, and other areas in the South East Asian region in conservation, maximizing energy efficiency, resource utilization, preservation, environmental restructuring, and repair of ecological environment in these areas, by adopting recycling and circular economy principles.

    

(b)            To promote the concept of ecological development by linking economic growth and social development with ecological and “green” emphases in Hong Kong, the mainland China, and other areas in the South East Asian region.

 

(c)            To participate and undertake research and pilot projects in resource conservation and maximizing efficient use of energy, water, land, and other resources, and establishing collaborative networks of key research centers and leaders in Hong Kong, the mainland China, other areas in the South East Asian region, and internationally.

 

(d)            To foster international partnership and collaboration with key partners in kindred international organizations, industries, universities, leaders, sponsors, and specialists in the field of urban planning, public infrastructure logistics and transportation to achieve a shift from linear to circular metabolism by means of more services with less resource uses, less waste and environmental impact, coupling market mechanism with green investments.

 

(e)            To help major stakeholders to achieve shift from linear to circular metabolism by establishing criteria for policies and best practices relating to circular metabolism, and other resource efficiency principles.

 

(f)              To identify policies and best practices and study financial implications relating to resource conservation and efficiency maximization in Hong Kong, the mainland China, and other areas in the South East Asian region.

 

 

(g)            To educate, train, and promote the conservation culture and awareness to the general public in Hong Kong, the mainland China, and other South East Asian countries by engaging government community, academic and industry leaders who are able to motivate changes in attitude, behavior, and civic practices of the general public.

 

(h)            To educate, train, and promote to the business sectors the adoption of conservation industry standards and closed-loop manufacturing systems in enhancing the social responsibilities and green leadership of business and industries.

(i)              To assist in the promulgation and publication of research findings and in the development and funding of research proposals in Hong Kong, the mainland China, and other areas in the South East Asian region relating to conservation, energy efficiency, and ecological development issues.

 

(j)              To arrange seminars, forums and conferences to introduce and discuss innovative ideas and practices.

 

(k)            To assist and partake in ecosystem assessments and to leverage bio-diversity in reducing poverty and promoting healthy and sound socio-environments.

 

(l)              To develop mechanisms for assessing resource efficiency, productivity and biodiversity under the overall goals of poverty alleviation and other such socio-economic improvement standards.

 

(m)          To provide funds for and to apply the same to assist and maintain or for the benefit of projects, studies, programs, and other education undertaking in environmental protection and conservation.
