AISG has about 6-7 community service groups. They held a community service soiree on Mar.7, 2009 at Guangzhou Ritz Carlton Hotel. The idea was to raise 20,000 USD to adopt (several) villages in Guanxi province.
This was done in order to free children who are forced to work instead of study because they are in a poverty cycle: their parents, in desperate times, took out a loan from a loan shark and since the interest rates are so incredibly high, no generation has effectively been able to pay everything back. So these children keep working...and they will keep working until someone tells them otherwise.
A village will provide sustainability and education for these children- Me to We will also effectively end their loan with the loan sharks and terminate the underage employment.
EDUI as the import sponsor supported this event. It was very successful charitable activity.
    They raised more than 40,000 USD by selling the ticketing to community service soiree and selling students' paintings and clothes designed by the students. |
