Barry Hotchkies is the founder and Principal of eCFOs and is supported by a network of specialists and service providers. Barry is a financial expert with over 30 years of experience in financial management in large and small, public and private companies. He has extensive experience in financing (debt and equity), strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting, international business (Europe, Asia and Latin America), designing and implementing system solutions, SEC and internal reporting, treasury and all administration requirements.

Most recently, Barry was Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Epitomics, Inc. from 2004 through 2006 where he was responsible for all financial and administrative functions. Epitomics is a private VC-funded biotech company headquartered in Burlingame and with large operations in China. Prior to joining Epitomics, he was Executive Vice President and CFO of Applied Imaging Corp., a medical device company listed on the NASDAQ, where he was instrumental in developing the company’s financial infrastructure and made numerous contributions to the company’s commercial growth. Barry was CFO of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, Barry was CFO of the Corporate Technical Group of WR Grace & Co. where he was a member of the Grace Strategy Committee, Grace Finance Council and the R&D Task Force.

Earlier in his career, Barry was: (i) CFO of Jacques Borel Enterprises, Inc. in New York; (ii) in senior financial positions of international divisions of WR Grace & Co. in Lausanne, Switzerland and New York; and (iii) a security analyst in Montreal.

Barry holds a B.S. degree from the University of Glasgow, Scotland and an M.B.A. degree from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College. He is an active member, and former Board member, of the Financial Executives Institute. He is fluent in French and conversational in Spanish.
