The Young Leaders' Scheme is just one of the exciting programme elements in the Explorer Scout section. All leaders in the Beaver Scout, Cub Scout and Scout Section who are between the ages of 14 and 18 must be members of a Young Leaders Unit.  

In East and South the process is:-

1)       Young Person registers with the District Explorer Scout Commissioner (DESC) by emailing explorers@eastandsouth.org.uk with their name, address, telephone number, section and group there are wanting to be a young leader with.

2)       The young person must within 3 months of become a young leader must have attend a Module A Training Course. These are held at the Hub Maitland Street Cardiff. Dates for 2009/2010 are 15^th September, 12^th January or 11^th May all starting at 7.30pm and finish by 9pm.

3)       There are 10 other modules that will benefit the young person during there time as a young leader the dates for 2009/10 are on the Calendar

4)       Final the young person will be supported by the leaders in the section there are working with plus leader from the district to complete the four missions and gain there Young Leaders.
