Please review the following list of scholarships that are available to you. This list has been compiled using previous years’ information; therefore the amounts, deadlines and scholarships themselves may vary. DON'T PROCRASTINATE... If you work on your choice of scholarships in advance of the deadline dates you will have the best chance of getting them in on time. Scholarship resource people will not consider your application if it is late. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to read the lists and get the application forms. You must submit the application before due dates. We will be here to help with the process. Some donors ask that we include your transcript with the application. Please DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE to make transcript requests. Every student going to college, vocational school or any other post-secondary school needs to fill out the LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION and return it to the Student Services Office before April 15, 2009. The first section (in light blue) are local scholarships. The Deer Isle-Stonington High School Scholarship Committee decides some of the local scholarships and the scholarship donors decide some. When new scholarships become available, they will be posted beside your Senior mailboxes. Many colleges offer their own scholarships. Remember to check with the financial aid office at the college of your choice. The Internet also has a wealth of information for you to explore. Many of the scholarships listed here are now also listed at the various web sites we have included at the bottom of this page. It is more important than ever to check the web sites. GOOD LUCK!
