Strategic Plan as Framework
The CSD’s Strategic Planning Process is not limited to the development of goals. Rather, we developed a vision, mission, and now an integral plan to ensure that all future CSD work is undertaken in a concerted, effective manner. This includes:
- Budget development and allocation of resources,
- Management of educational processes;
- Program development guidelines, and;
- Results collection and communication.
Adhering to a carefully-crafted, agreed upon plan ensures the most effective education of our next generations for a constantly changing world, while at the same time putting taxpayer dollars to greatest use by keeping priorities and focus consistent and consensus-based. The Strategic Plan as Framework ensures that the focus and path of professional educators and students withstand the demands of ever-changing trends, educational structures, and leadership—giving these efforts higher percentages of success.
It is important to note that the “Strategies” agreed upon for each area must be reflected in the “Performance Plan and Budget” sections of this plan. Similarly, the “Intended Outcomes” section of each area must be reflected in the “Program Evaluation” section, so that evaluation systems correspond to strategies and accurately reflect the success or failure of each strategy.
Today’s plan is an important management tool that will guide all CSD activity during the next five years. It will also serve as a framework for an ongoing assessment of our educational processes and for determining how to best allocate available resources. An examination of our plan, our budget, and our guidelines clearly shows how they complement and strengthen one another.
