HEALTH LINKS - SITE NAVIGATION

The Health Links portal has two different components (sites).  This site is the first component, which is intended as a public space to share information and course resources that are not copyright protected materials of The Great Body Shop curriculum.  This area is also intended to build communication and offer health related information and learning resources to all members of our school community.  The different areas in this site (see the Navigation panel to the right) are described below.
  • Course Calendar: Provides a calendar view showing when each unit starts and special events (e.g. Health Professional Presentations, local health events) taking place throughout the course.
  • Health Hot Links: Provides links to online health resources (family, child, parents, community... a wide assortment for our entire school community).
  • Health Bulletins: Provides access to Parent Bulletins for students in grades 1-5.  Grade 1-5 teachers will send home copies of the bulletin with students to promote family engagement around health topics. We are also encouraging teachers to support similar learning with students in their classrooms.
  • Student Family Community: A "gallery" of health related artifacts that will showcase the growth of connections and partnerships we hope this course will help build between all members of our school community.
  • Health Units (see 1-9 in navigation panel): Each unit in The Great Body Shop curriculum has its own area.  In each, we will provide information and resources that will help students, parents, and members of our school community learn about and better understand important health topics.  These areas will also contain information about local health events, organizations, and individuals associated with the different topics covered in each unit.
The second component is made up of specific online environments and resources for students and parents. To access these areas, students and parents need accounts to login. Account information is provided to students and their parent(s) at the beginning of the course.  Use your account login to access the following areas:
  • Student Assignments & Resources: Includes descriptions for each student assignment, organized by unit of study. Access to all assignment documents and online resources to help students/parents explore and learn more.
  • Student Testing Login: Each unit of study will start with students taking a pre-test.  The results of these tests will be used to help guide student learning and focus.
  • The Great Body Shop: Curriculum and materials from the Great Body Shop help shape the learning in this course.
* Parents... please contact the school if you have not received account logins or need help accessing these areas.
