Leaders from Disaster Psychiatry Outreach met with the senior leadership of the American Red Cross in Greater New York to renew the organizations' memorandum of understanding on April 2, 2008. It was with the hope of complementing the mental health services of the American Red Cross in Greater New York that DPO was founded in 1998, and ARCGNY remains the organization's oldest partner. The renewal of the MOU was an opportunity to review years of successful collaboration as well as to discuss new avenues for working together. The ARCGNY serves as the lead voluntary agency in activating DPO's disaster response services in the metropolitan New York City area.
