For my senior project I self- published a poetry/art book. I had book signings at home and at school and at Sierra Waldorf School. I sold my books at Out of Hand and Mountain Bookshop and on-line at Lulu.com. All the profits I've raised are going to Living Compassion's Africa Vulnerable Children Project.

Doing this project was a big step for me. I believe it takes a lot of nerve to stand up in front of an audience you don't know. I have accomplished something that I thought I couldn't do. “To be or not to be” is to do something or to not bother. I decided to take action. This project has affected my life. Writing poems and sending them out into the world has had a positive affect on me.

My interest in Africa all started when I saw a picture of an African kid in Mr. Micheletti's class. I was in my Junior year and I was in shock by what I saw. Then I read Cry the Beloved Country and started getting ideas about my senior project. I know that I really made a difference in helping African children and that feels great!

My plans for the future are to financially support an African child and keep writing. Maybe even publish another book.
