It's spines are actually venomous. This caterpillar is only about 2.5 inches long...but I bet it wouldn't feel good to have a spine in your finger! This caterpillar has turned into a pupa and is turning into a butterfly right now!  It will become the beautiful Mourning Cloak Butterfly. Look for him in your garden!  |
