Changes for Summer Life Labs
Life
Labs is a concept we've developed not only to challenge you to go
deeper into God's Word, but to apply it to life. Life Labs focus on
life issues from a biblical perspective in a small group environment (a
"laboratory") in order to be taken out and applied in daily living.
Our Sunday morning Life Labs.
This Sunday, September 6, begins our
new quarter for our Life Lab classes. Wednesday classes will start
September 9. The Sunday morning topics and teachers for the next three
months include two classes based on the College Press 3:16 Series.
(Please note that these are new studies rather than repeats from
earlier in the year.) They are…
The Gospel Unleashed: Acts 1-9 led by Randy Nicks
Unquenchable Faith: 1 & 2 Thessalonians led by Ed Henry
In addition we have two new studies for this quarter, both with a little different approach.
Our “Whatever” Ladies Group
will have studies on both Sunday morning and Wednesday evening. The
Sunday morning study will be led by Ruth Conway and the Wednesday
evening study will be led by Carolyn Honeycutt. As the title implies,
these classes are “for women only”, to give our ladies an opportunity
to encourage each another in their faith.
The other study is a new study from the book of Hebrews entitled The Fifth Gospel
and will be led by David Honeycutt. This class will also meet on both
Sunday morning and Wednesday evening with daily study questions for
each day on the text for the week. David is also planning several
“projects” through the quarter to apply principles from the study. It
is not required that you attend both the Sunday and Wednesday study in
order to attend the class, but it would be helpful to get the full
impact of the study.
One additional Wednesday night study will be led by Jim McDonald, What We Believe.
This is a study based on the popular Bob Russell Video series from
Southeast Christian Church. It is an excellent mixture of both video
and discussion. We are inviting all of our SonShine preschool and MCS
parents to attend as well as anyone else who might have questions
concerning what we believe.
All classes, both Sunday and
Wednesday, will be meeting on the DRCC campus this quarter. Room
assignments will be in next week’s bulletin as well as being posted on
the board in the foyer next to the bulletin table. If you have any
questions, please see David Honeycutt. As always, there are also
classes for the kids and teens--something for everyone. So plan to
come, bring a Bible anWednesday evening Life Labs See Above Everyone is welcome! Come, bring a bible and a friend !
