Welcome

I am an ordained Deacon in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse, New York, USA.

As a member of a faith-filled group of 15 husbands and wives, we are continuing an exciting journey of faith, fellowship and spiritual growth enabling us to meet the needs of our parishes and communities as ordained ministers.

A 30-Day Walk with St. Paul

Walk with me as I share my reflections each day on the scripture "gems" from St. Paul's letters.  As time permits and the Spirit moves me, I'll also attach short reflection notes on certain days.  In addition, if you have a reflection that you would like to share, just e-mail it to me and I'll post it in the "Shared Reflections" column.

God Bless You in your Personal Journey this Lenten Season!  -  Deacon Tim

DAY 1 Love of God Romans 5:8-10 "we were still sinners" writes Paul, and yet Christ died for us! God's love is so great that we, sinners, were save by Christ's death and resurrection to new life.
DAY 2 Love of Neighbor Romans 13:8-10 Paul restates the teachings of Jesus perfectly... in a way that is clear and sharply focused on ACTION!
DAY 3 Reconciliation 2 Corinthians 5:19-20 The Apostle Paul speaks to us in terms that establish an easy-to-understand metaphor: ambassadors... representatives, entrusted with an incredible message of reconciliation to a world of sinners.
DAY 4 Sin and Grace Romans 3: 23-24 "They are justified freely..." freely... that word carries the weight of boundless love; love that only our God can bestow.
DAY 5 Faith Romans 3: 25-26 I must sit with these words... ponder. Paul places too much on my plate... serving a meal so sumptuous in its richness that I can't possibly do more than take the smallest bites.
DAY 6 Hope Romans 5:5 I am overwhelmed by the PROMISE of love that God has given us and the incredible hope that realization brings to us.
DAY 7 Joy Philippians 4:4 Ah, a pep talk! For us? Well, Paul's original message of encouragement was for Euodia, Syntyche and Clement. Yet, can we reset St. Paul's appeal, as he continues, to let our "kindness 5 should be known to all."?
DAY 8 Peace Philippians 4:8-9 My God, I think as I reread verse 8, your servant Paul graces us with a prayer that settles our troubled heart, point us to all that is "true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, gracious....". I will keep these words on my lips and in my heart and always know the wonder of your creation!
DAY 9 Mission Romans 10:14-15 "Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God on their behalf is for salvation." Chapter 10 of the Letter to the Romans begins with St. Paul's most sincere statement of purpose. I hear his call to evangelize so loud and strong! Can we ignore his plea and truly be disciples?
DAY 10 Baptism Galatians 3:27-28
DAY 11 New Life 2 Corinthians 5: 16-17 "the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come" I am amazed by the confidence and expectation in St. Paul's words! Only a few years ago, Jesus had been crucified... now, this infant church is poised for a new order.
DAY 12 Patience 1 Corinthians 13: 4
DAY 13 Kindness Titus 3:4-7
