My maternal ancestors came from France and Canada. My paternal ancestors came from England and Scotland.
For some it was to escape from religious and ethnic persecution; others it was to flee hardship and give their families a better life.
Some fought in the American Revolution, and some in the Civil War defending their beliefs.
In spite of the turmoil and strife, they help found the greatest nation on Earth and passed to the following generations a gift of personal freedom and prosperity never before witnessed.
