In addition to the new officers, several other club issues were discussed before we adjourned to the pool for some beer and hot dogs. Here are the things I remember: (1) we have two new sponsors, see previous post, (2) the club needs everyone to pay their dues, (3) dues requirement before playing was debated at length, (4) new jerseys were discussed, (5) Mudfish is coming and we need all hands on deck, (6) the search for a new coach & (7) road trip to Houston for seven's tournament on July 11th.
Following the meeting, the knights battled a birdhouse full of angry wasps, grilled up some meat, drank beer, and cooled off in the pool. If you weren't there, you missed the fun.

We have two great new sponsors. Our new home bar will be San Francisco Rose and Pyramid Brewing will be providing the refreshments.

DAR-lington entered a strong, forward heavy side into this past weekend's Austin Bloodfest tournament. We fought hard, but the heat and lack of team cohesion worked against us and we lost in the first round of the playoffs. Then the fun really began. Bloodfest isn't just about rugby, it's also about the pub crawl and this is where DARC's expereince paid off. At last report, all the Knights were alive and kicking, although Richie's car was overheating on the way back to Dallas.

Due to the down economy, Tim has made the decision to close the doors of our long time host bar. Tim has been a great supporter of DARC and we have been fortunate to have the best bar in the TRU. Let's all get together on Saturday and raise a glass one last time to Tim and his crew. We'll set a time in the next couple of days. |

Garage Sale Results:
We made a little over $400 for the club this past Saturday. Donations were from Bloo, Bear, Jay, Swick, and me. Also, Drew, Richie, Ray, and Bash came out to help. I understand now that the word didn’t get out to everyone in time. We could certainly do another garage sale anytime if someone will offer their place to host. Easy way to put a few bucks into the club.
AGM Update:
The plan is still to meet on May 23rd. New location to be determined. Get your nominations to Bloo. Cookie has agreed to stay on as Match Secretary, but we need new blood for the positions of President, Treasurer, and Secretary. It's time for the youith to step up and take ownership of this club. |

After securing a spot in the Quartefinals on the strength of a bonus point, 30-10 victory over crosstown rival, Dallas Reds, on 28 Feb, DARC will travel to Fort Worth Rugby Club in the regular season finale. Please come out to support your Knights.
