Actually, you can also set up a "shared ownership", meaning several of you purchase the plane and pay for the common expenses based on proportion of usage. On top of that, everybody pays for their own flying. It is rather difficult to set all the rules to everybody's satisfaction. Conflicts are common. However, it does work!
