Safe Schools Healthy Students Project Model The Mission of the Safe Schools Healthy Students Project is development of a strong community focused, sustainable collaborative that supports the SSHS grant initiative vision of supporting efforts to promote safe, secure, and peaceful schools. Strategies for the grant project model integrate 5 essential elements: Element 1. Safe School Environment and Violence Prevention Element 2. Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug Prevention Element 3. Student Behavioral, Social, and Emotional Supports Element 4. Mental Health Services Element 5. Early Childhood Social and Emotional Learning Programs Students learn better when they feel positive about school and when they are able to control themselves, focus their energies and attention, and work well with others. |
