Thank you for taking the time to visit our site. Choosing childcare is one of the most important decisions that a parent will have to make. I hope that this site will support you with that decision by answering many of the questions you may have.
A Brief Overview The Canalino Preschool opened in September 2008 and is located on the Canalino Elementary School Site. The program is a year round program for children ages three to five years old that are toilet trained. We offer four convenient schedules to accommodate the varying needs of the family. Our program opens at 7:15 a.m. and closes at 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Our Mission Statement We strive to provide a kind, loving and developmentally appropriate environment that empowers each child to develop a positive self image and a love for learning. We provide an environment that encourages the natural and individual development of the whole child which includes the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, intellectual and creative abilities.
Our Vision Our well-qualified staff creates a nurturing environment that stimulates learning through direct and indirect experiences. These experiences include math and language exploration, creative arts, music and drama activities, science, social studies and movement exploration. We also regularly go on field trips in the community and celebrate special days. Above all, we provide ample time for play with many opportunities, the most productive way for a child to learn. The Canalino Preschool was designed to be a vital part of the community. Our goal is to provide an environment that allows for a comfortable transition into the Carpinteria School system. Located in the kindergarten wing of the Canalino Elementary School, the children are already familiar with the school setting and see Mrs. Green, the Canalino School principal, and the elementary teachers regularly. As the transition to kindergarten nears, we will work closely with all Carpinteria Schools kindergarten teachers, visit the different sites and classrooms frequently to ensure a smooth and successful transition. |
