Search And Rescue

 

Volunteer, all-terrain, all-weather, ground search and rescue unit that is a resource for local, state and federal agencies as well as the private sector.

 

The unit carries out this mission by providing rapid response lifesaving teams that go onto National Forest and into areas that may be inaccessible to urban life-saving units.  Members are trained in land navigation, lost-person search techniques, tracking strategies, wilderness rescue skills, swift water rescue, high angle rescue, while utilizing the National Incident Management System (NIMS).

Training Information

Upcoming - Rough Terrain and Mountain Rescue 1 - 2 - 3 will be upcoming with Instructor Todd Harris.  This is an Arkansas Fire Academy certified course.

 

Needing flankers for K-9 teams.  If you want to volunteer to run with the K-9's contact Instructor Todd Harris.

 

It was suggested to have a Backpack 101 class for the search and rescue members.  Dennis Gilstrap demonstrated the items in his backpact to those attending this monthly CCSAR membership meeting.

 

Looking for Air EVAC to come back and

demo their helicopter landing and equipment.
