One basic 50 year old Tasmanian Oak floor

With the carpet up the boards look a bit ratty, but over all, not too bad

Once the floors have been super fine sanded, we then tape it up ready
to commence applying our stain

The floors are taped up into manageable sections to ensure we leave no
over-lap marks

Taping up the flooring in this manner allows us to stain all of the
tricky, difficult sections first

Such as around doorways, cupboards, benches that sort of thing

Once the first run of stain is dry, we tape up for the second run and proceed
to fill in the blanks

With the stain now dry the last of the tape is removed

We are now left with a completely stained floor

Ready to have the 3 finish coats applied

We can stain the floors any colour your heart desires

Now the first coat of 2 Pac polyurethane is applied

As the finish is rolled on it immediately gives the stain more depth
than the average rock star

The polyurethane allows us to see the grain in the timbers

 Overall, a very pleasing result

Once that first coat is dry it leaves the floor feeling as rough as
Hessian Underpants

So, we then roll another coat of finish straight over the top of
the first coat

This sees us with our newly stained floor ready to be cut back

This is how it all looks once we cut back the polyurethane. This cut back
procedure is what contributes to the final coating becoming a beautiful
smooth finish

After the cut back the floor is vacuumed (a lot) ready for the last coat

The final coat is going down

As this is the last step in the process it's pretty important that we get
it spot on

The two Pac polyurethane can be rolled with the grain, or across the
grain, either way it all levels out to a fine finish

Lovely!    Well I reckon it is (*_*)

If you wished you could have the floors stained pretty much any colour
you like

Maybe BLUE

Or perhaps GREEN

However, the reds and browns are the most popular colours

In case you're wondering, that's the ceiling fan reflection in the floor

Well, that's it. That gives you a brief overview of what we could do for you
if you're considering staining your floor boards.

For the record, it costs $60 per square metre to have us sand, stain
& finish with 3 coats of polyurethane in the same manner
as the above photos
.
