Jay Stern is a New York City-based film, theater, and radio director and producer. He has directed and produced over twenty theater productions, from classical theater to world premieres, and several dozen short films. He is a founding member of Quicksilver Radio Theater, and a founder of the monthly First Sundays short comedy film series. He is a Ph.D. candidate in the media philosophy program of the European Graduate School in Switzerland.
In 2007, Jay Stern premiered The Changeling, his first feature film - an adaptation of the 17th century drama by Thomas Middleton. Stern has adapted and directed several radio dramas, including Frankenstein: Modern Prometheus, Lincoln's Last Day, The Adventure of the Speckled Band, The Merchant of Venice, Julius Caesar, A Christmas Carol, The Blue Carbuncle, and The Little Canoe. Stern regularly collaborates with a talented team of technicians and performers. They include M. Sweeney Lawless, Victor Varnado, Alan McIntyre Smith, Craig Wichman, Ramona Floyd, Clyde Baldo, and others. Stern was born, and grew up, in Alabama. He lives in New York City.
