Who’s Who?

Hugh Riddleberger, Executive Director

Hugh Riddleberger is a former school principal and headmaster with over thirty years of experience in schools and education. He believes in the empowerment of students to help mobilize their schools in response to pressing global issues. He has three grown children. Hugh is the Founding Director of LearnServe International, formerly the Center for International Education at the Washington International School.

Scott Rechler, Director, LSI Fellows Program

A native of Washington DC, Scott Rechler has been with LearnServe International since 2006. For the past five years he has worked full time with the international organization Ashoka: Innovators for the Public supporting Ashoka's global community of leading social entrepreneurs. He is now studying business at George Washington University. Scott has a degree in social anthropology from Harvard University, and has lived and worked in Chile and Bolivia.  In his spare time he enjoys running, biking, cooking, and, of course, social entrepreneurship!

Eric Goldstein, LSI Fellows Program Leader

Eric Goldstein is founder and executive director of One World Education, a non-profit organization promoting global awareness, literacy and meaningful citizenship through educational resources that give voice to youth perspectives on culture and global issues. Eric has been an educator in public, charter and independent schools in urban, rural and international communities. He has taught and facilitated learning programs for Washington, DC students in Greece and Zambia and participated in educator professional develop programs in China and Saudi Arabia. For the last eight years Eric has served as President of the JAG Foundation, a charitable organization annually generating three of the largest non-athletic and non-academic college scholarships in Nassau County, New York.  While teaching in Vermont, Eric also served on the Vermont Sierra Club's board of directors. Eric was President of his senior class in college, and launched his career as an educator after a solo, 5,000 mile bicycle trip across the United States in 1999 that raised approximately $30,000 for different organizations.

Marsh Gardiner, Technical Director

Marsh Gardiner handles the tech side of LearnServe International, including the forums, blogs, and website. In his former life, he designed and produced video games for Electronic Arts and Fox Sports. He met his wife in China while backpacking, and now they live in Maine with their two children. Sabine Keinath, Program Manager

Sabine has an MA in Economics, and worked in developing countries as an economist in the design and evaluation of education and other social sector projects. She has worked and lived in Germany, UK, India, Egypt, Tanzania, Mexico, and now lives in the US. Sabine has two young sons.

Lloydie Zaiser, Outreach Coordinator

Lloydie has worked in the classroom and schools as a leader in community service and service learning.  The Founder of Kenya Educational Service Trips (KEST), Lloydie has led programs in Kenya to build student awareness and service, demonstrating that one person can make a difference.  Visit http://www.k-e-s-t.com/index.html to learn more.
