Thank you for volunteering to prepare a visit for the Fellows to one of the organizations!
To make the visit successful and as useful as possible for the Fellows, you should prepare the visit by researching the organization to be visited, think of any questions you might want to ask them, and prepare what you would want to say to the people of the organization about who the Fellows are.
Since you are two or three Fellows preparing the visit, you might want to divide this up between you.
Look at the issues and questions below – this should guide the preparation.
1. Background on of the organization: What would you share with the other Fellows, in anticipation of our visit?
Please write a short description of the important points in an email to the other Fellows and post that on the Facebook site.
Check out the organization’s website, google them and find newspaper articles or other online materials, and anything else you find interesting and prepare a short introduction. One of you should compile the short introduction and share it with the others.
2. Questions for the organization: What questions would you want to be sure that the organization answers when we all meet with them?
Each of you should prepare 2-3 questions. One of you should compile the questions, and send them to our contact person at the organization. The questions should be sent to the organization at least one week before the visit.
3. Background on the LSI Fellows: What would you want the organization to know about our group?
We will also ask you to introduce LSI to the organization we visit at the beginning of the visit. The introduction should not take more than a few minutes. One of you should prepare this.
Please contact Scott, Hugh or Sabine if you have any questions!
