Our Mission
Jennie E. Smith Elementary School is a community of teachers, staff, and families dedicated to building a solid academic foundation for our children in reading, writing, math, science, citizenship,
technology, and the arts in a safe, nurturing environment that challenges and motivates students to achieve academic success.
Exemplary Programs
Jennie Smith Elementary School is proud of its wide variety of exemplary programs. Smith displayed its ability to meet individual students needs through a 30 minute intervention and enrichment block as well as a half hour tutoring session for small groups of children each day. Each of our students this year particiapted in enrichment clusters which allows students to select areas of interest to explore in a deeper way. Fourth and fifth grade students have the opportunity to join the Smith Chorus. Jennie Smith also has instrumental instruction for 5th grade students. Our talent development program works with students to extend the regular curriculum as well as compete in academic areas throughout the state. Many of our students win awards for exceptional performance at area competitions. We continue to strengthen our partnerships with local businesses which supply our school with adult mentors for over thrity-five students.
