If you have a truck, you will be OK..But low profile cars, you need to be very careful driving in. The first part is gravel road, which is fine. The next part is dirt road which has a lots of holes and bumps. It is the last part which can be a problem as there are some exposed rocks. Here it is extremely important with low profile cars to watch and drive very slow and watch the road carefully.

Desert Reenactment:  The Battle of Wadi Akarit

April 17-19, Stoddard Valley Off-Highway Vehicle Area

This will be a 24-hour scenario, so be prepared for tactical meals and night engagements

The California Historical Group (CHG) is hosting a 943 North Africa event.  The sponsoring unit is the British 1st Airborne.  The Battle of Wadi Akarit (April 5 – 6, 1943) was historically significant because it was British Eighth Army’s last major effort in North Africa.

Axis and Allied camps should have communication, fuel, ammo, water, POW cages and field hospitals.  Entrenchments are permitted so long as they are filled in at the end of the event

Exit Highway 15 at Hodge Road, travel east, and look for CHG signs
