Technical bits...

posted ‎‎Oct 21, 2008 7:33 AM‎‎ by Andy Channelle
For the most part, the Journalism & Society module is based around the study of journalism. But in order to understand how news is constructed, you'll have to produce some of your own journalism, and it's my job to help you with that.
Initially, this means that you'll have two production workshops this semester (w/c 20/10 & 27/10) and four sessions after Christmas. In the first session we'll be exploring how technology changes news and in the second we'll create a simple-ish page design using Adobe InDesign. After Christmas we'll turn to more production work where I'll be on hand to assist in preparing your final bits of work.
On this site, you'll find quite a lot of useful stuff (look in any of the Journalism pages) and I'll try to post specific things for the J&S module here - beginning with my short guide to news writing which you'll find on the bottom right.
Any questions, let me know.

Andy
