Journalism & Society

Introduction

These pages have been created to ease students through the practical elements of the Journalism and Society course. During this year you will be required to produce a selection of journalistic work both as simple text (which is never simple) and as a complete design.
You will find here resources and notes used in workshops, as well as advice on writing and design, links to other sites which might aid you in your work and any files or documents mentioned in the practical workshops.
It might also prove productive to scan through other sections of the site dedicated to journalism.

Style Guides

A styleguide is used by journalists to ensure their copy conforms to a particular standard - so, for example, if they're writing a story on a world war 2 pilot, they know whether they should write World War 2, Second World War or even WWII.
