I'm a writer and technical lecturer specialising in technology and journalism. I write for various publications including Linux Format and Mac Format and have written for loads of others including 3D World, PC Plus and Linux.com.
My current projects beyond the university include working on the development of Spike Island's website and writing a book about OpenOffice.org, the free alternative to Microsoft Office.
Previously I've been a magazine designer, editor, TV and film reviewer, production editor and guitarist in a punk band.

Education
I completed a BA (hons) in Cultural and Media Studies in 2005 (dissertation | research paper | 3rd year Interactive Media project) and an MA in New Media in 2006 (dissertation) which was fully funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
