This last month has been very busy at The Center of Light, Oakland. The Order of Christ/Sophia celebrated its 10 year Anniversary and so the festivities were big… The Order of Christ/Sophia is the Holy Order of which the Center of Light is the Spiritual School. On April 18th, we put on the Inner Peace Festival on Lake Merritt which was a hit! People from all over ran, walked, scooted and strolled by ~ stopping to speak with us and partake of our delicious treats so generously donated by area shops like Whole Foods, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, Berkeley Bowl, Trader Joe’s, Bakesale Betty’s. Even our paper goods were donated and compostable ~ it was truly a peaceful and green event. You know what? The best part of the entire day was the peace and the joy that resonated throughout and that each person could relate to. Because there was so much abundance of not only goods, but peace, people naturally congregated, naturally wanted to be close and as a result, a community event was born. I want to especially thank the Oakland Parks & Recreation for their generosity and action in allowing us the beautiful space to be. Thank you Wendy!
