Father Peter Bowes: Upcoming Spiritual Seminars

•Father Peter Bowes•

Father Peter Bowes has devoted his life in service to God; for over 20 years, he has served as a Priest and Master Teacher. Currently, he serves as Co-Director of the Order of Christ/Sophia, teaching and ministering to his spiritual students, and guiding fifteen Centers of Light and their ministers around the country. He travels between these Centers year-round, teaching and lecturing, as well as performing his music as a singer-songwriter of Mystical Christian folk rock. Many of the elements of the Mystical Christian teachings can be heard and experienced in Father Peter's music, encouraging the listener to seek and discover the Truth within. Listen to his music on Sophia Radio. When not traveling, Father Peter lives at the Center of Light in Chicago, IL.

Father Peter will present powerful, life-changing seminars while he is at the Center of Light. Don't miss out -- sign up now!

The Healing Power of Mary
Thursday, December 3 • 7:30 p.m.
Suggested Donation: $25

Why do we speak of Mary, the mother of Jesus? What part can she play in our spiritual life? Why do so few of the churches mention her? Why do so few revere her? What can we learn from her about the spiritual path and the qualities we each need in order to become one with God? These questions and more will be addressed in this seminar.

A Mystical Interpretation of the Christmas Story
Friday, December 4 • 7:30 p.m.
Suggested Donation: $25

If you desire to have a more meaningful Christmas this year, join us and get your season started with an in-depth look at the inner meaning of Christmas and how we can enter into the experience of a truly spiritual holy season. Mystics interpret all the events in the life of Jesus and Mary as not only being literal events but also symbolizing each step along the spiritual path for those who desire transformation. In the Christmas story, not only do Jesus and Mary symbolize specific aspects of us, so do Joseph, the wise men, the shepherds, the star, the animals in the stable, and the stable itself.

The Purification of the Soul
Saturday, December 5 • 10 a.m.
Suggested Donation: $40 (light lunch provided)

God made our souls perfect and beautiful. So why do they need purification? The experiences of many lifetimes have sullied the beauty and brightness of God's creation within us.  Misconceptions and hurtful experiences have separated our consciousness from God's consciousness.  Learn how to get back to the beauty and perfection of your own soul at this seminar with Father Peter Bowes, Priest and Master Teacher in the Mystical Christian Tradition.

We offer evening prayers in our Center's chapel Sunday through Thursday. Our evening prayers are full of joy and devotion as we sing and pray in gratitude and love for our Creator, Jesus and Mary.

Christian Mysticism Seminar

Thursday, October 22 • 7:30 p.m.

Cost: $25 pre-registered

All who have sought to move beyond dogma and concepts into a direct experience of God and God's love are known as mystics. The word "mystical" refers to "a spiritual reality not apparent to the senses or intelligence ... stemming from direct communion with God." Feeling God, seeing God, and knowing God cannot be accomplished by belief alone. A direct, personal experience of God is what every mystic seeks to attain. A mystic meditates and prays and strives to be in close relationship with God throughout the day and throughout their life. Christian mysticism is the process of coming into the experience of God at the center of one's being, under the teachings of Jesus and Mother Mary.  Deep in that holy place within, a mystic finds complete peace, joy, light, and love. Come to this seminar to learn how to go deeper and find out what your soul needs.
