We have an amazing labyrinth at the Sophia Peace Center adjacent to the Center of Light, Dolores. We did our first meditative group walk on All Saints Day this week. It was so beautiful. We had candles lining the outside of the labyrinth. There was an almost full moon illuminating our walk as well. The design of the labyrinth is the same one that is in the Chartres Cathedral. The purpose of the labyrinth is to create a meditative walking space. So we focused our meditation on modeling our lives after the saints, bringing the qualities that the saints have into our own lives. I found the gentle back and forth motion of the pattern of the labyrinth reminding me of ocean waves lapping on the shore. That reminded me of the feminine energy of Mother Mary and the gentle way She loves us and heals us and how we too can carry that energy inside of ourselves. I feel so grateful to have this beautiful labyrinth here and to be able to invite others to share with us the joy of walking it with a clear, positive focus in such a beautiful, rural setting.
