On Saturday November 5th, the Dolores Center of Light community held our
second yard sale of the season on Central Ave, directly behind the new
Salvation Army Thrift store location. It was one of the many
beautifully golden autumn days we have been blessed with recently and a
perfect morning for folks in the neighborhood to be out and
getting to know fellow Dolores community members. Almost everyone who
came by found a great deal on items such as refrigerators, rugs, doors,
and clothing along with an opportunity to share fun and light
conversation with new friends. All of the proceeds from this joyous
event went toward funding outreach for the Center of Light and
spreading the love of Jesus and Mary. I feel grateful to have had the
opportunity to help spread their love through working together with
fellow Center of Light community members and taking the time to get to
know neighbors. Everything went so smoothly, and I could feel that all
involved were wrapped in Jesus and Mary's love throughout the event.

I have been thinking about forgiveness this week. I live at the Center of Light house in Dolores, CO and we have communion service every morning. Each morning, I kneel before God and I am forgiven through taking in a part of Jesus in the communion service. And this week I have also been thinking about how so many people in the world are carrying heavy burdens - sadness, guilt, shame, anger - and how those burdens they carry can be lifted by God in one communion service.
Our community watched a movie called the Power of Forgivenss this last week and it moved me. The movie showed many people - survivors of the Holocaust, people whose family members had been murdered, widows from 9/11, who were working on forgiveness - although many of them were not there yet. One gentleman clearly was. This gentleman in the movie's son was murdered by another youth at about age 20. And this gentelman became best friends with the father of the murderer and they went around to high schools to preach forgiveness. That is so powerful. I know God was working through these men. And all of us were moved by their message. It moves us because that is how God forgives. We talked about how it is only though feeling God's forgiveness that we could forgive another or ourselves. We can't do it alone. We have to opportunity feel this every morning in communion. It is life changing and I hope more people come to communion to experience real forgiveness.

We have an amazing labyrinth at the Sophia Peace Center adjacent
to the Center of Light, Dolores. We did our first meditative group walk
on All Saints Day this week. It was so beautiful. We had candles lining
the outside of the labyrinth. There was an almost full moon
illuminating our walk as well. The design of the labyrinth is the same
one that is in the Chartres Cathedral. The purpose of the labyrinth is
to create a meditative walking space. So we focused our meditation on
modeling our lives after the saints, bringing the qualities that the
saints have into our own lives. I found the gentle back and forth
motion of the pattern of the labyrinth reminding me of ocean waves
lapping on the shore. That reminded me of the feminine energy of Mother
Mary and the gentle way She loves us and heals us and how we too can
carry that energy inside of ourselves. I feel so grateful to have this
beautiful labyrinth here and to be able to invite others to share with
us the joy of walking it with a clear, positive focus in such a
beautiful, rural setting. Sister Camille

This is our first blog entry for the Dolores Center of Light. It is really joyful to be able to communicate with so many people around the world what it means to be apart of this spiritual community and receive what we receive here. As people start to wake up to wanting a spiritual life, where God or Spirit becomes more important than just the day-to-day events, worries, desires, it becomes evident that we can truly change this planet. I found this path because I wanted to know what was real. I wanted to know God as real if that was possible. I wanted to learn. I knew a better version of me was possible and I knew doing it on my own wasn't going to work; not quickly at least. Each day at this Center of Light I see people change and become more happy with who they are... God Beings. I see people build real faith in God because they allowed themselves to be taught and transformed. It is a huge blessing to be apart of a community where integrity, love, purity, simplicity, honest and laughter are the cornerstones of what we do EVERY DAY. I look forward to meeting many more people through this great technology we've been given and sharing with you this ever pervading PEACE.
Blessings!
