Institutional Religion: Death of a Divine Reality Friday, September 25 • 7 p.m. Suggested Donation: $25 Location: Durango Dharma Center All of the major world religions were founded upon the teachings of an avatar of God living on earth. These teachers worked directly with their students to bring them into greater connection with God. After the teacher's short time on earth, however, the direct teacher/student relationship would be lost, and disciples would typically come under the authority of an institution rather than the wisdom of a teacher who had gone before them on the spiritual path. What is the difference between the spiritual path and the institutionalized form of religion? Why would someone want a spiritual teacher? What makes a teacher effective? The light within them was so pure that it regenerated all of their cells, which made them transcend the natural course of decomposition. The light of the sun is the source of all life here on earth, just as the light inside of you is the source of all life in your body. Daily Mystical Practices Meditation and Communion Monday - Friday 6 a.m. Saturday 8 a.m. (30705 Road V.6, Dolores- Times may change during retreats or other events, please call ahead) We offer meditation and Communion every morning in our Center's chapel. As on Sundays, these Services begin with a half-hour of silent meditation, designed to allow each person to quiet his or her mind, take in the energy of the chapel, and prepare to receive the blessings of Communion. Evening Prayers Sunday - Thursday 9 p.m. We offer evening prayers in our Center's chapel Sunday through Thursday. Our evening prayers are full of joy and devotion as we sing and pray in gratitude and love for our Creator, Jesus and Mary. Sunday Services Sunday 9:30 a.m. (Sunday Service only is at the Sophia Peace Center, 19581 CR 31, Dolores- Times may change during retreats or other events, please call ahead) Sunday Services are uplifting, inspiring and deeping in consciousness. The Service includes singing, prayer, and a sermon that is relevant to the process of spiritual development. It also includes a powerful and transformative Communion Service.
