A few of us went to an interactive exhibit sponsored by World Vision on the AIDS epidemic in Africa called Step into Africa. The exhibit is amazing because you become the child and are living in their world through a multi-media approach. It is a powerful experience to see and feel how these children and families live, what they have sacrificed and how they have suffered. You are unable to walk away from this exhibit without wanting to give all you have to these children and families. It was remarkable to see the hope and love in these children, many have lost parents and loved ones and still have faith in God and Jesus and give to those who are in need. It is a totally different mindset then this country and one that would open peoples hearts to compassion and love for others. After being so moved by this exhibit and seeing the children and adults wanting to give what they have to these kids I wondered why this exhibit wasn't drawer more people and why schools weren't bringing classes to experience the pain that is happening in our world. Why are the tragedies of the world being hidden by the media? It is sad to see how people would prefer to stay in denial of the agony of the world as well as their own agony and pain. I know many people get overwhelmed and feel like the problems are too big and don't how can they can make a difference but each person can make a difference in the choices they make every moment. You can make a difference by forgiving and choosing compassionate in any given moment. Your choosing Love will change the world bringing more compassion, peace and love into the earth. As well as transforming your heart you can also give $35 a month to change a child's life check out the website www.worldvision.org for $35 a month, this money can buy them the medicine they need, provide food water and education. |
