The Lives of the Essenes
Thursday, November 19 • 7:30 p.m.
Suggested Donation: $25

Often said to be the teachers of Jesus, the Essenes were a small community of devoted Jews who chose to live their lives according to the Old Testament guidelines for awaiting the coming of the Messiah. A gentle and peaceful people, they lived in a community that some might call utopian: sharing with each other and with their neighbors, living in simplicity and humility, and never choosing sides in conflict. They were a godly people who wanted to be ready for the Messiah's coming and to live as the Christ would have them live. This sect disappeared not long after Jesus' death and resurrection and it is thought that they integrated into the emerging Christian culture of that time. Come and hear the details of the simple Christian values and lives of the Essenes.

You Don't Have Any Problems
Friday, November 20 • 7:30 p.m.
Suggested Donation: $25

If God is Love, if we are loved by God, how can we have any problems? If we accept into our being the reality of God's goodness, love, and caring for us, then the natural result of that would be to trust our lives to God's care. People are easily distracted by things that seem hard or inconvenient and tend to label these things as 'bad' or as a 'problem'. What if all things 'good' and 'bad' are just God trying to tell us something about life? Come and begin a journey into the reality of God's love and the perfect care God takes of each person.

Learning to Love Yourself
Saturday, November 21 • 10 a.m.
Suggested Donation: $35 (light lunch provided)

Many people harbor deep and secret feelings that there is something inherently wrong with them. This results in people feeling 'less than' others or having to make themselves feel 'better than' others. In fact, if you could see yourself as your Creator sees you, you would know thoroughly that you are completely loved and accepted. This doesn't mean there's not work to do on yourself, but it does mean your heart can rest in the knowing that while you are doing the work, you are supported by the God of Love. Come and begin the journey toward love of God and self with Father Peter Bowes.

Christian Mysticism Seminar

Sunday, November 1 • 7 p.m.

Suggested Donation: $25 Bring a friend for free

All who have sought to move beyond dogma and concepts into a direct experience of God and God's love are known as mystics. The word "mystical" refers to "a spiritual reality not apparent to the senses or intelligence ... stemming from direct communion with God." Feeling God, seeing God, and knowing God cannot be accomplished by belief alone. A direct, personal experience of God is what every mystic seeks to attain. A mystic meditates and prays and strives to be in close relationship with God throughout the day and throughout their life. Christian mysticism is the process of coming into the experience of God at the center of one's being, under the teachings of Jesus and Mother Mary.  Deep in that holy place within, a mystic finds complete peace, joy, light, and love. Come to this seminar to learn how to go deeper and find out what your soul needs.
