Hi, my name is Vicki Powell, and I first came to Crowley County in 1967 when my parents moved from Pueblo to Sugar City. It seems I have been in Crowley County Schools ever since. I went to school in Crowley County from 2nd grade through high school, graduating in 1977. From there I went to Oklahoma to attend Panhandle State University. I decided to suspend my college education for a couple of years, moved back to Sugar City, got married and had a son. About that time, my high school math teacher, Mr. Shoup, contacted me and urged me to pursue an education degree in mathematics. I did and proceeded to teach math at CCHS for the next 18 years.
I then took some time off to start my own business and eventually came back to teach full time as the head of the business department. I currently teach the business classes including Computer Science, Accounting and AutoCAD. I am also the Future Business Leaders of America sponsor and responsible for several administrative roles.
I currently live outside Ordway, with my daughter who is in the fifth grade.
