Crowley County High School Concert Band
Welcome! You are a member of one of the finest organizations in the Arkansas Valley. As a member and part of this tradition, you will have responsibilities and obligations to meet. The instrumental music program at CCHS forms a vital and important part of the total high school life. The band represents a large, colorful, visible, and highly disciplined segment of the school. The performance of instrumental groups at local, regional and state festivals, parades, contests, sporting events and many other area activities, adds a great deal of brilliance and life to the Crowley County community. You are expected to do your part--be at rehearsals, participate in fund-raisers, practice individually, etc., but most of all, you are expected in everything you do, both in the classroom and out, to strive for excellence. The main emphasis of the CCHS Instrumental Music Program is on MUSICIANSHIP. Achieved through hard work, it is the pride of a job well done that makes our efforts worthwhile. The success of the organization will lead to the success of the individual and visa-versa. There is a TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE throughout the CCHS Instrumental Music Program where performance, demeanor and behavior consistently reach the highest level. Music is a primary condition of the human experience. In the history of man on earth many civilizations have been identified that could not read, write or calculate. None have been discovered that did not make music. It is also interesting to note that all the species on earth only humans purposefully engage in making music. There are so many feelings in our heart and images in our mind that can only be accessed through creating, performing and listening to great music. When those thoughts and feelings are activated and engaged we can experience the profound impact of music making as an endless source of inspirational energy that flows continually through out lives; elevating, expanding, and deepening our spirits.
