THEME: Looking at Student Work  SS041809

Instead of just using standardized tests, rubrics, and portfolios to score student writing, learn how to examine student work so that it shows you what they know, in which areas they have grown, and next steps for instruction.

Choose two workshops designed to help teachers identify what your students can do and to determine next steps.

WORKSHOP A: “A Closer Look at Rubrics” Patricia Lux, CAWP Teacher Consultant, Lowell School, CPS

WORKSHOP B: “Using Protocols to Look at Student Work” Petrine Ashley, CAWP Teacher Consultant

WORKSHOP C: “What Student Work Tells Us About Vocabulary Instruction” Members of CAWP Vocabulary Inquiry Group

WORKSHOP D: “One Teacher’s System” Tim Hart, CAWP Teacher Consultant
