YOUR HEROES HAVE GOT IT WRONG
Fueling a tour bus with the wrong thing
Well meaning but misguided people have turned to biofuel as a way of lessening their carbon impact but apparently have not thought the issue through as it pertains to the global food crisis. Some of the more popular musical acts in the country such as Guster, Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Mayer, Alanis Morisette, Jack Johnson, Ben Folds, Barenaked Ladies, Dave Matthews, Linkin Park and Norah Jones are clients of REVERB, a tour production company basing their tours on green energy use. While acts like Guster are doing good things such as using wind power to supply electricity for their concerts, they are proponents of biofuel. One of REVERB's major attempts at being energy conscious is the use of biodiesel for tour busses and transportation of tour equipment. Not only are they using biofuel, but they are touting its use to groups of impressionable and passionately involved people who take it from their heroes that biofuel is a good choice. We have to let them know they are mistaken, that they need to discontinue the use of biofuel and that they need to stop championing this destructive energy source . Please sign the petitions.
