Senior Privileges

Senior Privileges: Class of 2009

All privileges will begin on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 and will be in effect until the last day of senior classes, Friday, May 22nd.

Out of Uniform:
  • All seniors will be allowed to attend school out of uniform; however, all CDH policies pertaining to out of uniform days must be observed. The only additional area that will be allowed is male seniors do not have to shave or meet the hair length policy. These rules are in the CDH Student Handbook, and include no hats.
Parking:
  • During senior privileges, the CDH student lot on the South side of campus will be reserved for seniors only.
  • Seniors will be responsible for observing the lot to ensure that only seniors park there. Underclassmen who do not observe the rule may be referred to the Deans.
Cell Phones / iPods / MP3 Players:
  • Seniors will be allowed to use cell phones during 5th period (outdoor lunch and homeroom) and outside study halls..
  • iPods/MP3 Players will be permitted during study halls and 5th period (lunch and homeroom).
Study Halls:
  • Seniors with a first period study hall will be permitted to arrive to school at the beginning of 2nd hour, missing first period study.
  • Seniors with a study hall during the school day will be allowed to go out to the South Field during their study hall under the supervision of a study hall teacher.
  • Seniors with an 8th period study hall will be allowed to leave the campus after 7th period. All students who are excused from study hall must leave the building immediately.
  • NOTE: These privileges are only granted to students who are not failing any classes.
Fifth Period:
  • Seniors will have lunch and homeroom outside on the South Field, weather permitting.
  • All students are required to observe this privilege; there will be NO indoor homeroom.
  • If it is raining, students must report to the cafeteria and then go to their regular homerooms.
Senior Day:
  • May 15th will be Senior Day.
  • Seniors and CDH Faculty and Staff will be encouraged to wear green on this day.
  • There will be music during passing time. Seniors can submit CDs to a raffle for the songs. All music must be pre-approved by the Deans.
  • During senior lunch, the school will provide an ice cream sundae buffet for the seniors with ice cream and toppings.
