Myasthenia Gravis is an auto-immune disease that attacks the neuro-muscular junction. Anti-bodies attach themselves to the AChR receptors on muscles and prevent them receiving messages from the nerves. The MGA site has lots of excellent information on the disease. The MGA forum is a great place to ask questions and find out more about the disease. This site aims to complement the MGA site and act as a repository of other (hopefully) useful information on the disease. Note that information on this site is not the responsibility of the MGA. The title, Missing Grabbits, was, as far as I know, coined by Mr Gravis who writes the "Life with Gravis" column in the MGA newsletters. Not only is it much easier to pronounce, it is an excellent description of the disease. |
