Steve's Blog January to March 2016

March 26th 2016

I've near as damn it run conduit over the bogies so I am now adding some more things it runs to.

At the moment that's the mountings for the AWS sensor.

Why all the bright colours?

It's quicker to use bright colours, you can see what you are doing and if it does not display properly you can see quite easily that the code needs a slight rewrite before changing it to a texture or a darker colour.

March 18th 2016

Currently I am adding all the conduit pipework and the many boxes they run to.

Sorry that work on the HST is taking longer than last year's releases, I had a problem that meant I could not go to work so I was actually doing train making as a full time job!

So that's why there was quite a few quite quick (in bve terms) releases.

This year it's back to me doing it in my free time and my partner has other idea's of what I should be doing.

She always does!

March 9th 2016

The disc brakes are now finished.

March 6th 2016

Work continues on the bogies, now adding the disc brakes.

Err, more cylinders..........

February 29th 2016

Still working on the bogies, or adding the Guard Irons and the mountings for the disc brakes.

I found some better shots of the bogies so the 'inside' of them has been altered as well.

Although I don't think you can really tell from the above screenshot?

February 20th 2016

Some more work on the bogies, or all the dampers and anyone who says you must avoid using cylinders in this game look away now!

Well this is 2016 and not 2006.........

February 12th 2016

The light clusters are now better looking than they where, I staggered the actual lights the lights when they are actually in line with each other.

I must look at more photo's!

I than moved on to the horn grill and the horns themselves and have started making them more 3D.

You can just about make the horns out behind the horn grill in this screenshot.

I have also gone back to the bogies.

February 8th 2016

Roof finished so back to having a go at the light clusters on the cab.

I am trying to get a glazing effect.

February 6th 2016

I've now finished the roof, a lot of 3D there.

So I moved on to starting on the lights.

February 4th 2016

As you may have noticed I've moved back to finishing off the roof.

Today I finished the exhausts and the smoke deflector or whatever BR called it!

Then I moved back along the roof to the engine area roof hatches, on the first go I got them just a bit wrong!

At the moment they still are...

February 3rd 2016

Since I last posted something about the HST power car here's a collection of screenshots of how it looks at the moment.

January 6th 2016

Released today is 66066 on a rake of Cartics.

The Cartics (not the 66) are one of the many new route objects I've made in the last couple of years for use in the next release of Network West Midlands by TSC/TSS.

A release that's not far away, it's bigger and better also the computer needed to run it may need to be!

This year I am going to avoid saying what I might make, it's normally nothing near what I actually do!

But I plan to finish the HST and the Class 59.

Be assured that new releases will continue in the ninth year of my making this stuff!
