TRAINS FOR OPEN BVE AND BVE 4

31st December 2012 (a bit later)

I forgot to also point out the scrap steel versions of the Avenza 47 have been replaced with new ones.

I used one them to make the Colas version and noted that the centre wheelset on the leading bogie was 30 cm forward of where it should be!

That Quality control department of mine fails to notice again!

If I had one...

But I really need to stop making more 47's, although from what Google Analytics tells me you quite like them.

This year what will I release?

Well I've had this habit of saying at this time of the year what I am going to make and it's always a work of fiction.

So this year, you will have to wait and see!

31st December 2012

The Colas Rail Class 47's are now released.

The normal light engine versions, the two loco version shown below and the empty scrap train.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

30th December 2012

Tomorrow I hope to release some Colas 47's.

There will be to loco's 47739 'Robin of Templecombe' and 47749 'Demelza'.

Both will be released as light engines, Robin will be released with Demelza in tow and Demelza will have a empty scrap steel train to haul.

24th December 2012

A new version of the Network West Midlands by Trainsimstuff/ Trainsimcentral, has been released today! http://www.trainsimstuff.org/home

So I can stop sneaking in screenshots of my trains in the WIP version of the latest one!

Some of you may have wondered how the latest 47 was going past a Class 60 in one of yesterday's screenshots I posted.

Well you can now find out why!

It will also explain why I did not seem to making that much for a few months at the start of the year!

23rd December 2012

Now released, is 47811 Freightliner in light engine and with the FSA container flats.

22nd December 2012

Not much chance to do anything in the last few days.

A bit more work on the 175, now the Mk2 version of the roof above the windscreen and I've had a bit of a start on the corners.

I've also made a new Class 47 this time 47811.

When it was used by Freightliner when First Great Western finished with them.

It's basically finished, but I need to add where the FGW branding has been painted out or removed.

Two versions will be released the Light engine and a 12 car/3 set FSA container flat version with no containers loaded.

Hopefully released tomorrow.

18th December 2012

I've now started on the front end.

I was quite pleased with the roof above the windscreens, until I added them.

Now it's a bit wrong!

I should have done the windscreens first.

Hindsight, a wonderful thing!

16th December 2012

I am still working on the 175 roofs, I started the 175 as a xmas release.

As ever it's turned out to be a bit more than the time I thought it would take!

All those detail differences, you don't realise they are there until you have a good look at doing one!

I've added a lot more to the roof, but there's quite a bit more to add.

Sounds, here is a problem.

I recorded them on my way to work one day on my mobile.

Fine for what a 175 or a 180 sounds like inside, but totally wrong if you are making a Open Bve train.

Oh! and the horns are so loud, something you can put right in a matter of seconds in Audacity, it's because I wanted to see if any one of you that download my work actually complain!

That was quite a few years ago and even now it's not something I get that often.

13th December 2012

Since the last post the main body side windows have been resized, a start made on the roof and the inner ends.

9th December 2012

A little bit more added to the 175, the bogie textures have been changed and the underframe made more 3D.

5th December 2012

Now added are all the Class 175 bogie textures, so no Turbostar showing and I have also added the underframe textures although they are not positioned correctly.

The wheels are also in the right places.

I have also put on a complete 'front end' texture a First North Western one, but it does tell me the finished front end should look OK.

4th December 2012

A bit more work on the 175.

I've now got to the hard bit, or the front end!

Sorry there seems to be the odd bit of it that might belong on a Turbostar (or the bogie textures), as the Turbostar or the config of the 168 I had a go at at the beginning of the year is my latest on a Unit, so I started from that to make a 175.

I must get to all those Turbostars at some point.

3rd December 2012

A bit more work on the cooler group grills of the 56, there might be more but I've been at work for the last week.

I have also had a look at doing a Class 175 external view.

If this one get's released, it will also have an inproved cabview and new sounds.

At the moment, the 175 sounds are configured for how it actually sounds in the cab ( the horns a bit loud though, I did make that cab nearly 4 years ago!) and if I make an external view they need to be altered.

Open Bve does not let you make external and internal sounds at the moment, so it needs to be an inbetween mix.

26th November 2012

Back to the 56, I've now configured the 3D side grill area of the cooling group on the sides and started on the cooling group roof.

25th November 2012

I've now released 47376 'Freightliner 1995' with a train, it's a 2 set or eight wagon Freightliner.

24th November 2012

I forgot to announce another light engine.

47376 in Freightliner stickered Triple grey.

This one has a 47 freight underframe, there's no tanks surrounding the battery boxes.

Based on photo's by Richard Boddy and me, but not taken at the same time!

Of the preserved 376 on the G&WR a preserved railway well worth a visit. http://www.gwsr.com/

It will have a train once I configure it!

With the 56, I am still adding bits to the side grills.

23rd November 2012

Just a bit more work on the 56.

There's the odd change, but the main one is the Cooler group area on the sides.

I want to make the Cooler group area 3D as you can see through the grills in most photo's of a 56 I've looked at.

22nd November 2012

Back to the Class 56.38

The roof now has the config finished and needs the textures added.

The bufferbeam sides have now been altered to 56 type they are somewhat shorter than the Class 47 version.

The cab windscreens have been changed and the sides and nose area have also been worked on.

I've also altered the bogies so that the centre underframe parts look right, by resizing the bogies slightly and moving them forward, the centre part was a bit short.

There are also the head and tail lights added to the nose, it's a first go so they are a bit small and in the wrong place at the moment.

It's going to be 56038 based on this photo http://www.flickr.com/photos/51738247@N03/5740657603/

17th November 2012

Guess what!

I still got the Advenza 47 wrong, all were missing the lamp bracket on top of the centre of the nose of the external.

So all have been replaced again!

Thanks to John Rogers for pointing out that you should see the back of the Headboard in the 47 237 Scrap steel version, so that has been added to the cabview.

The 47 786 WCRC Railtour has also been replaced, with the back of the headboard added to the cabview.

15th November 2012

The Advenza Class 47 has been revised and released as you may have noticed they were a bit mixed up number wise and the external did not actually match 237 or 375 if you looked at the odd photo.

It was a bit of a mix of features of both and had some both don't have!

There's now two versions of the light engine.

14th November 2012

The RES mail train and a light engine version have now been released.

12th November 2012

Back to the RES Mail train.

For the 'Super BG' I've changed the roof vents, added brackets between the underframe and the bottom of the body and started on the end detail.

I am considering releasing this as a 'Super BG' only consist.

I found out yesterday how far Martin Corbett of BVETMD has got with his Class 56 cabview/train and its rather further that I have with the external!

08th November 2012

I've now released 47270 as both a light engine and a fully loaded container train.

Don't forget it's a Class 47....

Then I plan (do I plan?) to get the RES mail train finished and then get back to the Class 56.

I should do as Martin Corbett of BVETMD is working on a new sound and hi res cabview.

It would be nice if we both finish the development work at the same time!

Then there's what could be called a Martin (cabview/train), TSC (route) and me (external) joint project thats just a bit different.

Hopefully!

07th November 2012

Thanks to an e-mail suggestion, I've also had a look at a Freightliner Class 47 or 47270, it was pointed out I should make that one and it's a bit different.

I've finished the cab, subject to what Martin Corbett of BVETMD thinks and as you can tell from the screenshot below the roof is going to be green all over.

It's an interesting 47 as it has quite a few Class 57 features.

It will be released as a light engine and with the container train behind it.

3rd November 2012

A bit of putting a train behind 47791 today, currently it's 'Super BG's and the propelling van on the rear.

I hope to add a 'Super GUV' or two to the formation, but only if I can make a good enough body end texture as I've not got a photo to make it from.

30th October 2012

Sorry lied!

If I am making RES parcels vans I better make one of these as well!

If you have had a look at the name on this loco, don't think any Pullman coaches are due to appear!

29th October 2012

So back to the Class 56, I have started adding more 3D shapes to the brake parts on the bogies, the buffers have been changed (although a lot of 56's had 47 type buffers but not the one I am making).

I've had a look at making the side grills more 3D and started splitting the main roof into separate parts.

28th October 2012

The Advenza Freight versions of the Class 47 are now released and all the light engine versions have been rereleased to remove the ETS function from the cabview.

I am going to leave the Class 47's for now, although the number of versions I could release is almost endless.

But it delays my making of something else!

26th October 2012

This afternoon before I go to work, I finished configuring the KEA open wagons to the Advenza Class 47.

It needs a proformance config so it will be a day, maybe more until it's released.

There will be a light engine version and all the light engine 47's will be rerelased as they all have the ETS working when they should not or that white light on the right hand side of the cab.

I had redrawn the cabview for it but forgot to remove the animation....

I should have noticed!

25th October 2012

Revised versions of the First Great Western Class 150/1's are now available.

I've replaced the FGW branding with some better ones, the old branding was a texture from a photo and the photo shows it was applied bady but it looked a bit odd!

Here's a shot of what the 'Super BG' looks like today.

23rd October 2012

I had a little tweak of the main body side textures and everything looks rather better.

I have also taken a screenshot of what I've actually done with the removed bits.

Basically moved them away from the bogie sides.

But what I do have is the basic config to make it all mostly 3D by making many textures fom the one the removed bit's are at the moment.

22nd October 2012

I've now done a bit more work on the 56.

The complete textures of the bits I removed from the front bogie have been added.

Not for it to be released like that, but to act as a guide for when I make them a lot more 3D.

I have also added the cooling group side grills, to the main side texture.

It shows me I've something wrong.

The area between the cabs look way too long.

21st October 2012 (a bit later)

I've now added all the underframe detail and recessed the top of the siding doors.

21st October 2012

Also in production for the mail train is this NBA 'Super BG'.

It's slightly more advanced than the NAA is this shot.

19th October 2012

Well I've got a few more 47's to do before I move on to the Class 56.

Advenza on the latest open wagons the 57 version has, Colas on a ballast train and a Rail Express Services version on a mail train using Martin Corbetts other cab.

So the last one needs some rolling stock.

I had a go at one of the consist of the mail train this afternoon, a NAA Propelling Control Vehicle.

12th October 2012

I have now released the DRS 47 as a light engine.

While I was at it I also made a DRS light engine of one of these, it has a new version of the cab.

11th October 2012

More work on the DRS 47 today.

Shown is the rear end, I've added the multiple socket to the cab front.

It's fully 3D, don't ask how long it took to make!

But it does mean a few more 47's can be released.

I've made a few more changes to last time.

My stuff is not a case of slapping on a reskin.

This shot also shows that 810 has a flush nose on the rear and that the cabside OHL stickers are just a bit wrong to the correct looking ones on the nose.

10th October 2012

I have started work on another 47, this time a DRS version.

I have a problem with this one as to what to put behind it, it seems to be a top and tail railtour again!

The red bit on the cab front is the start of the multiple control socket DRS and many still active 47's have fitted.

I've also been working on the 56.

I must admit the bogie looks a bit lacking from what I posted before, but that's what a good texture from an exellent photo does until you look from the side!

So a 56 bogie needs to be a lot more 3D.

I've removed all the brake related parts from the bogie sides of the leading bogie.

8th October 2012

Sorry to say I've just changed all the Class 47's.

The ETS socket on what was the secondmans side of cab was in mid air, I forgot to mount it to the bufferbeam.

Also I got the config of the first coach wrong in the 47851 - 47854 railtour!

So all are replaced.

Note that they have the same file names, so you need to delete the old ones before downloading the new versions or rename them.

I've also released a new 47 railtour, 47786 and 57601 'Top and Tail'.

There's also a 57601 light engine and a 57601 and 47854 Railtour just released.

5th October 2012

I have just released a revised 47851 light engine, two more and the 'Top and Tail' Railtour.

Not with the coach formation shown in the WIP screenshot below as that's the formation behind the 57001 Railtour.

More will follow!

2nd October 2012

Here is a shot of the first Class 47 Railtour that will be released.

West Coast two tone green 47851 leading and maroon 47854 trailing.

Currently I am coupling the loco's up to the coaches.

It also shows a revised Salford Bridge yard on NWM by TSC, with some ballast wagons, a Class 60 and new signalling and pointwork.

Or it would do if it was not a test route Tony Haylor made for me, I make all my trains these days by running the WIP in NWM and this is actually a small route from the Yard to the Turnback siding the other side of Salford Bridge station.

So it loads quickly when I run the sim saving me quite a bit of time over a few hours.

Thanks to Tony for doing that.

I don't use Object viewer you don't get any prospective using it of what something looks or acts like.

All my recent work is configured for the latest Open Bve versions of NWM so you may have odd things happening in older routes made for bve4.

But yes NWM is still being developed by the TSC team and hopefully a latest version will be released soon and maybe this screenshot does show what Salford Yard looks like in the latest WIP of NWM!

1st October 2012

Hopefully this week I will release different Railtour versions of the Class 47's and also a 57601 version.

I also had a look at doing one of these.
